Around the Region

#1. Next meetings: High Noon, Thursday September 2nd at One World Spokane Community Kitchen, 1804 East Pittsburgh. The meeting is free and open to everyone, member or not. Questions? Contact Charles Lightwalker, charleslightwalker@yahoo.com

#1a. The SHCC will meet Thursday September 16th, 7pm. at One World, 1804 East Pittsburgh. This meeting is your first opportunity to sign up for the November 13, 2010 - 2012 Mind, Body, Spirit, Fair. This fair will be unique. It has a theme, 2012, and will be followed by a panel discussion at 6:30 that night. The panel is comprised of John Jay Harper, Laura Lee Mistycah, Sal Rachele, Govinda Miller, and Kaleah Laroche.

As usual, registrations will be accepted on a first paid first serve basis. Mail registrations will not be accepted if they are postmarked before September 17, 2010. This means that the people who attend the meeting have first shot at the fair spaces. As usual also, those who apply first are given the option of being in the main room and those who apply later are relegated to the outer room. The main area accomodates 24 or 25 vendors. The total # of vendors will be 32-35. We have had as many as 46 applications in the past. You can see that timing is important if you wish to be a vendor. Vendors may share a space.

SHCC has switched to a 3-tiered fee system: $75 for Chamber Members, $85 member of another holistic chamber, $125 non-members . The cost to become a member of the chamber is $50/year. If you join at the party the membership will run through 12/31/11. The advantage for vendors of becoming a member is that we put on 3 fairs a year and $50 + 3x75 = $275; and 3x$125 = $375. So if you plan to participate in 3 fairs JOIN! Join anyway because you are supporting a movement to move away from the competitive big business model to a community oriented mutually supportive model.

Applications for the fair and chamber memberships will be available at the meeting, and you will be able to pay that night and secure your spot as a vendor. If you cannot or will not attend the party you may download the attached applications and put them in the mail the next day, but not before or they will be rejected.

Many of the questions people normally ask me about being a vendor are answered on the applications, so please read those before you call or write me with questions.

#2. In the next few months I will cease to write these updates. If you want to continue to receive information about the SHCC, you must sign up for our newsletter! You do this by visiting the link below!
